Thankful for Airbags

It’s American Thanksgiving Eve. I can see the States from where I’m sitting, I am bombarded with holiday advertising daily, and my sister and her family are almost fully Americanized, so I can’t help but think of family and this year’s thankful events.

Topping the list is that my dad didn’t die in his car accident this summer. He came close; within inches I would say. His recovery is sure to be painful, slow, tedious and frustrating but, judging by the photos of his car, most people talk about how lucky he is, which really pisses him off. (And he hates it when I show the photos, so shhhh).
