Alone in the store room

When I started my job at U Windsor, there was no space for me. Lisa was the work-study student who had to give up half of her space for me -- and her space was an inter-departmental store room to begin with -- and she did so without any complaints (well, none that I heard:)

So now she is off to Southampton, UK to get her masters in Film Studies. Today is my first day sans Lisa and it has been very hard!!! I no longer have my across-the-desk thesaurus, my phone number/fact checker, my connection to the world of IM acronyms, my never-ending supply of napkins and disposable cutlery, my Monday morning film quiz or the lunch hour House and Project Runway downloads – Gone, all gone.

I did, however, nab her office chair.
