Gone West!

We moved! I am still adjusting to the longer days, bigger sky and cooler weather but we are so happy to be here in Alberta. My bf, a GIS analyst, was offered a job here and we jumped at the chance to leave the employment-challenged (and kinda ugly) Windsor, Ontario.

This past weekend we took full advantage of our new location and took a weekend trip to beautiful Jasper, Alberta (about a 4-hour drive away). I made the mistake of wearing my hair in braids and the bf called me "Pocahontas" all day!

So, nothing comes cheap in Jasper we realized when passing the plastic for the 10th time in a day. Oh well, we did have a great time, great weather, a relaxing cabin with a view, gourmet meals and a few gifts/souvenirs (though I resisted getting the super-cute moose hat with ear flaps for Boone).

The Jasper Tramway takes you up over 3000 ft. to a spectacular view of the town and surrounding lakes and mountains - for a cool $75.00 for 2 adults and a child. No wonder everyone is taking photos up there -- instead of just taking it all in--  so they'll at least have a little something to show for their dented wallets. Here are my memories in digital format:
