5 specific things about me

After the facebook™ "25 Random Things About Me" challenge, I noticed a lot of my friends were being very open and heartfelt, while I revealed pretty much nothing about myself. In fact, I've been pretty guarded for some time now, which is so not me!! So, here is my revised list just for me and my blog readers (all 3 of you!!):

1. My son has Asperger's Syndrome, which is a type of Autism. It has turned my whole life upside down, changed most of my relationships and made me question my beliefs and attitudes about almost everything. He's as much a part of me as my arm or my head or my heart. I wouldn't change his personality for anything! Though I would change things so he could better navigate this world, if I could.

2. About a year ago my 8-year marriage ended. It has been a surprisingly neutral experience.

3. This year my house was broken into. No one was here and not a lot of things were taken but I'm so pissed off that someone was in my home, uninvited, rummaging through my belongings. I used to keep my doors unlocked and often wide-open, which I can not do anymore.

4. I have made so many mistakes yet I have very few, if any, regrets.

5. I am in a new relationship that I rarely bring up - though what I really want is to yell from the rooftops how happy I am while doing a little happy dance.
